Hurricane Irene
Hello again everyone! I just thought I’d start a little conversation about the impending Hurricane Irene and are interested in your thoughts, concerns, ect.
I’m on the East Coast about 1 1/2 hours from the ocean. I know we’ll have some heavy rain and wind, maybe some power outages around.
Does everyone have a plan? Food in the house? Batteries? Honestly, I have food, no batteries … but I do have candles LOL
Give me your thoughts.

This Irene will do nothing in my opinion. We had one that was worst back in 1986, no worries then. I think our officials are hyping it up just to get people to make purchases. I don’t need to stock up because I have a 2 month survivors kit that I replace every three years since 9/11. And I just replaced my kit 3 months ago.
I have to agree with you. I went to the store simply because I ran out of something that we really need. OMG, it was like a mad house! I had to get gas because I was almost on E WELL, another fiasco …. I couldn’t get INTO the gas station because of the line. I know it’s good to be prepared, but they sent everyone into a panicked frenzy!
hurricanes are not a joke Mr2708. stop trying to pull people into ur way of thinking…if on east coast stock up on everything or just evacuate until over
It was an opinion Bobby. We all have our own ways of thinking. Trying to get folks to think like me is a false accusation. Think for yourself, not what you are told by the masses.
It was over-hyped, period.
I know I’m late to the party here, but IMO, if it hadn’t been hyped up and it was worse than it turned out to be everyone would be complaining even more. So I say, tell them to get ready for the worst, if it doesn’t happen, oh well. At least you would have been prepared if need be.
